MEETING
OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2007
After a two-month hiatus, having closed for August, the readers of Parler Paris gathered once again to commune with friends and kick off the "Rentrée." Regulars Alan and Jill Schrift, residents of Le Marais who I bump into regularly, claim to regularly see actor John Malkovitch in the area, too...but I never have! Alan Smid had a big smile on his face as he came to say hello meeting newcomer, Tina Meyer, who says she'd been reading about the group for years and wanted to check it out. Adrian Leeds Group team members Mary Ellen Gallagher, Search Consultant, and John Rule, Rental and Mortgage Manager, were there to lend an ear and advice when needed. Kate Caldwell Daoud, who has a shop at 27, rue de Picardie, just a few steps away, recently opened a Salon de Thé on the premises named "Les Comptoirs de Carthage," open Tuesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. with breakfasts and lunches. Be sure to try it! For more information, email comptoirs_de_carthage@yahoo.fr. Newcomer Pamela Grant, does historic walking tours of the city of Paris along with Richard Nahon, a resident of Le Marais who came to start a new life in Paris from New York. See http://www.eyepreferparistours.com Dr. Leonard and Janet Bass from Fort Lauderdale, stopped in with their daughter, Danielle, also a physician. They're dreaming of having a place here and spending more time in Paris. Art and Stephanie Myers, who attended the Living and Investing in France Conference Dinner in San Diego one year ago, visit France annually. Art is a professional photographer here to do a shoot and make contact. Retired Rudd Crawford tagged along with his wife, Lisa, who is a member of the Parler Parlor French-English Conversation Group. Mark Kritz came in late, commenting on the renovation work he's overseeing in his Paris apartment. Patricia Laplante Collins, of Paris Soirées talked about her upcoming tarot card reader/speaker. Jeanne Velu, a relocation specialist, got welled up when she saw the in-progress drawings of her grand children by Rosemary Flannery, a working artist who has lived here since 1987. Rosemary showed off the rest of her beautiful portfolio. Medora Kattenbach was back again to visit with friends of Parler Paris, as was old friends Al Stewart, career coach of Business-Mentors and Dale Gaber, a personal life coach.
