MEETING OF OCTOBER 28, 2003
(Photos and descriptions of participants do not necessarily match!)
Many
of the folks from the Working and Living in France Conference graced
our doors at Parler Paris Après Midi on Tuesday...CAROLYN LEE
from Germany, GARY WALDREP from Grand Prairie, Texas, PIERRE HAHN from
San Francisco and MARYE LESLIE from Laguna Niguel. Gary says he's homesick
for Paris and came to find out how we can move back "home"
and find a job. Marye has her heart set on Paris --
in fact she first contacted me wanting to know how
to
become a tour guide.
RICHARD MORGAN, who was at our first conference one year ago, found
his dream pied-à-terre in the 9th arrondissement and now comes
quite regularly to Paris because of it. SHIRLEY AND WALTER PAPPAS from
Falls Church, Virginia and newcomers to Parler Paris Après Midi
are no newcomers to Paris. They've been coming twice a year for years.
Walter is the
photographer
responsible for many of the photos I use on the Parler Paris Newsletter.
JACK LAMPERT came back, but he's headed to Florida for the winter this
week and GAR WESTFALL visiting from Hawaii is headed back to palms and
balmy breezes soon, too.
KATHARINE WHIPPLE came for the first time to Après Midi -- she's
working on a site of products from France called FrenchBest.com.
DIANA
SMITH, an old-time friend who owns and rents property in Paris, plus
who took in much of the conference presentations, came to say hello
and PATRICIA LAPLANTE COLLINS brought her big, black dog and talked
about her Halloween Soirée Friday night at Eurocentres. I'll
be speaking about Finding Your Dream Apartment on November 16th at her
Paris Soirée, should you happen to be in town and want to join
us.(Write Patricia for more information at mailto:parissoirees@noos.fr)
IL Paris Office staff came to "schmooze"...SCHUYLER HOFFMAN,
Special Conference Coordinator now living in Seattle has been here the last
two weeks for the conference; BEVERLY TECHE, our new intern who just
celebrated two weeks in Paris and JOCELYN CARNEGIE, Property Search
Manager, who was showing apartments to the conference folks earlier
in the afternoon.
Newcomers
to the afternoon gathering included DOINA GRECU from Flagstaff, Arizona
who is doing a "stage" in stained glass; BIPAN KUMAR GRILL,
from India teaching yoga and Ayurvedic massage; LARRY LEVY, whose goal
is to never leave Paris and PETER MARTINEAU from Albany who comes to
Paris yearly and has the bug to own an apartment. What else is new?
See you there!
If
you weren't able to make it this time, we look forward to meeting you
the next, or the next, or the...we'll be there the second and fouth
Tuesday of every month!
We're taking a break for the next scheduled Parler Paris Après
Midi to celebrate Armistice Day, but hope to see all of you on November
25th, just before Thanksgiving.
