MEETING OF January 8, 2008

This was Medora Kaltenbach's last visit to Après Midi till April, but she's become a welcome regular.

So have Paul and Paris Tannish, he a techer of music and she, furthering her tour business, writing a book and expanding her Ebay antique business.

Old friend, Dale Novick Gaber, a life coach, who recently moved into her pied-à-terre on rue Charlot (just under Le Provençal) was on hand to join in the usual conversation and merriment after a trip to the BHV.

Long standing attendee, Alan Smid, spent much of his time talking with regulars Allan and Jill Schrift, residents of Le Marais, looked awfully chipper on a cold January afternoon, happy as ever to be here.

Freelance journalist, Pamela Leavy, came without husband Jim, but enlightened us all with political conversation about the Obama/Clinton primary results.

Gar Westfall, out of his natural Hawaiin habitat and into his Paris mode, had his trusty Apple IBook and IPhone with him checking his emails and stock performances.

Renovation is complete chez Ralph Moorhouse, who is here enjoying his new Montmartre apartment, soon to join the roster on Parler Paris Apartments.

Newcomers included Marianne Juhl, originally from Denmark who has been living in Los Angeles. She just moved here two weeks ago and wishes to settle in and create a life here.

Trevor Williams, a professor of English Literature in Victoria, Canada, came to Paris to see his new grandchild, and to Après Midi for the first time to meet new people.

Anne Pawle, a resident of Paris for 40 years having worked at UNESCO, has just written a bilingual book called "Leisure & Cultural Offerings in Paris" that she is currently distributing in local bookstores. She brought a few copies for us to see. Quite lovely!

And stopping in late without her best friend, Eve (black Labrador), was Patricia Laplante Collins of Paris Soirées.
